KU PROPEL: Postbaccalaureate Research Training

KU PROPEL, formerly known as PREP, is offered through the Office for Advancing Success in Science, which coordinates the management of several externally-funded research training programs at the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University

Program Overview

KU PROPEL prepares college graduates who are currently employed as lab technicians by KU or KUMC faculty for entry into STEM PhD or master's programs. PROPEL scholars work with their faculty mentors to integrate independent research into their lab experience. In addition, OASiS provides PROPEL scholars with professional development training, individualized development plans, and assistance with graduate applications.

Get Started

As we launch this program in Summer 2026, we encourage current lab technicians and KU STEM faculty interested in participating in PROPEL to reach out to us for more information. We anticipate that the first PROPEL cohort will launch in July 2026.
