Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program

The KU PREP program is offered through the Office for Diversity in Science Training, which coordinates the management of several externally-funded programs at the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University.

Prepare for Graduate School

The Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) at the University of Kansas provides mentored research experiences, coursework, and professional development training to assist recent college graduates with preparing for graduate programs in biomedical fields. PREP is part of NIH’s Division of Training, Workforce Development, and Diversity (TWD) whose goal is to foster the training and development of a strong and diverse biomedical research workforce.

Program Advantages

PREP provides students with a mentored research experience and supplemental coursework. PREP also provides personalized academic counseling, assistance selecting and applying to graduate programs, local presentation opportunities, travel support to attend national meetings, and other opportunities to enhance research and academic skills.
